Yograj Singh stated that he visited Kapil Dev's residence armed with a weapon following his exclusion from the Indian team. |
Yograj Singh, the father of Yuvraj Singh and a former cricket player for India, made news once more with his divisive remarks. He disclosed that after being cut from the Indian squad, he had a close call with Kapil Dev, the captain of India that won the World Cup.
Yograj expressed his ire at Dev for being cut from the team after he was named captain of the Indian cricket team and the North Zone. Feeling that he had been unfairly treated, Yograj brought a revolver to the former captain's house and challenged him.
The 66-year-old claimed in a recent interview with the podcast "Unfiltered by Samdish" that Kapil Dev "dropped me for no reason when he became captain of North Zone and India."
"After drawing my pistol, I proceeded to Sector 9 to visit Kapil's home. He and his mother came out. I mistreated him twelve times. I informed him that I had lost a buddy because of you, and that you would pay for your actions," Yograj stated.
"You have a very devout mother standing here, so I'm not going to put a bullet through your head, even though I want to," I informed him. I said to Shabnam, "Let's leave." At that point, I made the decision that Yuvi would play cricket instead of me," Yograj continued.
He also mentioned that he sent Dev a copy from the newspaper stating that his son Yuvraj had outperformed the previous captain at the 2011 World Cup.
In the World Cup, he continued, "I did send him a paper cutting that my son did better than you."
Additionally, Yograj remembered that Kapil Dev had expressed regret to him.
In a WhatsApp message, Kapil informed me that we would be brothers in the afterlife. In the future life, we will be born from the same mother. He desired to meet me. However, there is retribution, and it still stings," Yograj remarked.
Additionally, Yograj discussed the late spin bowling great Bishan Singh Bedi, stating,"These guys conspired against me, including Bishan Singh Bedi." Bishan Singh Bedi was never forgiven by me. He said, "The man passed away on his bed."
